How He Got Into It...

Johnny got into acting from his ex-wife who introduced him to Nicolas Cage. Cage convinced Johnny to try out acting.His first movie was 1984's "Nightmare on Elm Street" His immediate claim to fame was when he started the TV show "21 Jump Street" as the star undercover cop, Tommy Hanson. Johnny disliked the job so much, he tried to get out of the contract by showing up on set with rubber bands on his tongue. Getting his wish, the show was cancelled after 2 seasons (?)

Depp is known for his quirky, but fantastic roles in Hollywood. (Benny and Joon, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, Edward Scissorhands) also his repetitive film works with director Tim Burton (Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow)
